The Academy of Design
The Academy of Design in Ljubljana is an independent institution of higher education that offers education in the field of Interior design, Visual communications, Textiles and fashion. The main goal of the professional system of higher education is to qualify the designers with specialized knowledge that will lead to innovative design solutions which will increase meaningfully the possibilities of a breakthrough and development of design and it's industry in all it's possibilities.
The development of the higher education is based on the improvement of connections between education, research work and economy which is aware of the importance of the flow of knowledge, research innovations and the progress based on the learning society. The need for new knowledge and innovative technological solutions based on the transference of knowledge of research institutions to the industry have become the foundation stone of education evolution which provides practical knowledge necessary for a quick breakthrough on the employment market.

We invite you to attend the Summer school of Design which will be held in September 2011 at the Academy of Design in Ljubljana, an independent institution of higher education.
We have prepared for you the following workshops:
Textile design
Period: from September 12th till September 17th 2011
Theoretical and practical part; total 50 hours, 5 ECTS credits received
Guest lecturers: Dragana Grujić (University in Banjaluki, BiH), Kemal Kan (Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Turkey)
Interior design of public spaces
Period: from September 12th till September 17th 2011
Theoretical and practical part; total 40 hours, 4 ECTS credits received
Guest lecturers: Davide Fassi (Politecnico di Milano, Italy), Nesrin Turkmen (Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Turkey), Patrick Reuven (Lessius Mechelen, Belgium)
Planning visual communications
Period: from September 26th till September 29th 2011
Theoretical and practical part; total 40 hours, 4 ECTS credits received
Guest lecturers: Ignacio Lavernia Amador (EASD Valencia, Spain), Elizabet R. Imbernon (Estudio Kikuru, Spain)
Participation fee per individual workshop is 50 EUR.
The accommodation for foreign students is financed by the funds received; the student participant is responsible for his travel and daily expenses.

Academy of Design in Ljubljana, an independent institution of higher education, has been selected on the basis of public tender "Summer School - Implementation of the Bologna Process, co-financing of inclusion of external experts in the teaching process in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013".
The operation is partly financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund.
The operation is performed under the Operational Programme for Human Resources Development 2007-2013, the development priority 3: "Human resource development and lifelong learning"; priority guidelines 3.3 "Quality, competitiveness and responsiveness of higher education."
